When Is The Best Time To Do Your Skincare Routine?

Are you an early morning riser or a late night relaxer?  Maybe you're somewhere in between.  Either way, you will need to find an ideal time to do your skincare routine.  But is there a perfect time to do it?

Truthfully, you should be doing some of your skincare in the morning before you start your day and some in the evening before you settle in for bedtime.  There are some things like a good cleanser (we recommend our Vegan Daily Facial Cleanser) that should really be used once in the morning to wipe away your sleep and once in the evening to wipe away your day.  You should also be using a moisturizer (we recommend either our Instant Cellumoist or our Instant Peptide depending on your skin type) once a morning and once in the evening.  So there are some elements of your skincare routine that will need to overlap, but not every element needs to be done twice a day.

If you are a morning person you can do your expanded routine in the morning before you get ready for the day.  If you are a night owl, you might want to do the extended portion of your routine before you go to bed.  It is honestly a personal preference and may require you doing a little trial and error before you decide what works best for you.  There is truly no right or wrong answer to this question.

The good news is that you won't do any damage to your skin trying to figure out what works best for you.  We would recommend that as you're trying to figure out what works best, you may want to stick with one way of doing things for a few weeks to get a real feel for how it fits into your daily routine and then adjust.  You may want to try it in the morning for a few weeks, then switch to the evening and then decide.  You may also already know exactly how you like it and of course that is fine too.

When you do settle on a skincare routine and what time of day you will want to perform it, the most important thing you can do is to be consistent with it as you move forward.  Consistency is one of the best things you can do for your skin.  If you are consistently keeping it clean and moisturized you will see results throughout the winter months and into the spring and beyond.
