Why We Are Celebrating National Healthy Skin Month

If you're reading this post you probably already take your skincare routine very seriously and that is great!!  Your skincare routine is an important part of making sure the largest organ in your body is well cared for and that you're looking your best.  This is why it is important to focus on healthy skin and why we're taking the chance in November to review some of the things you can do to use National Healthy Skin Month as a springboard to the healthiest skin of your life.

If you already put an emphasis on your skin and using the perfect skincare products for your skin type, why is it important to be thinking about your skin specifically in November?  The first reason is that when you're considering your skin health during your day to day, are you really considering the overall health of your skin or just how your skincare routine is continuing to make your skin healthy, youthful and glowing?  Of course these things are important to your overall skin health, but you can take your skincare another step further by thinking through why and how you might take full advantage of all the reasons skin healthy matters and not just for appearance.

Protecting your skin.  More than just using a vegan daily facial cleanser you should be taking steps to protect your skin against environmental factors that could have an adverse affect on your overall skin health.  Things like pollution, harsh weather and UV rays can all impact your skin health in a negative way.  That is why it is so important for you to make sure you are taking the necessary steps to protect your skin from these damaging environmental factors.

The final reason it is so important to "celebrate" National Healthy Skin Month is that it is an opportunity to focus in on your habits and make sure they are contributing to the healthy skin you are after.  Things like getting enough sleep, the food you are eating and your stress levels can all contribute to whether or not your skin looks how you want it to look.  If you take a moment to review these things and take steps to improve your overall habits, your skin will be grateful for that.
