A Few Things You Can Do For Healthier Skin

It is not too late to pick up a New Year's resolution even though we are already a few weeks into the new year.  If you're anything like us 2023 has gotten off to a great start, but there are always things you can do to improve your situation and since we are so focused on a skincare routine around here, we thought it would be great to give you some tips and tricks to work towards healthier skin.

Working towards healthier skin is a great New Year's resolution to start a little bit later in January because it is something you can do entirely on your own without any distractions from anyone else.  It's not like trying to eat healthier where you have to rely on those you're living with to pick up that mantle to or trying to get to the gym more regularly where you need a gym membership and a way to get to the gym each day.  Working towards healthier skin is something you can do on your own and with very little work, but it's also something that can have an out sized impact on your quality of life.

We've put together a couple of things you can do to get your skin healthier over the next few months that will put a pep in your step and make those you come in contact with do a double take when they see your skin glowing.

Step #1: Be gentle with your skin.  Harsh chemical peels, strong soaps and lack of a good moisturizer can leave your skin feeling rough and parched.  Working to be gentler to your skin will have a lasting impact for days, weeks and months ahead.  You can start by ditching your harsh exfoliating routine in favor of our #1 seller InstantPeel which goes on at home in a steam shower and sloughs the dead skin off with no harmful residue.   Don't take my word for it, Vogue editor Marina Rust sings InstantPeel's praises a lot, "I have sensitive skin and I ADORE this product."

Step #2: Protect your skin from the sun.  While the sun may not be as harsh in the winter, as the days move into spring and summer keeping a strong layer of protection against the sun can do wonders for the look and feel of your skin.  Whether you shield your face from the harsh sun rays using a large brim hat or find yourself a high quality sunscreen, the damage the sun can do to your skin will show, but if you protect your skin from the sun it will stay healthy all year round.

Step #3: Manage your stress levels.  High stress levels can lead to skin damage.  If you can take time to meditate or do yoga or even just be still with your own thoughts for some time each day, your stress levels will decline which will be good for your mental health and your skin health as well.  This can be easier said than done, but if you can accomplish it, your skin will thank you for it.

Not everything you do to achieve healthy skin has to do with your applied skincare routine.  The actions you take on a day to day basis can lead to healthier skin year round and if you start now you'll be glowing before the first blooms of spring arrive and you need to adjust your skincare routine to make an impact during the summer months.
