This Summer Activity Can Be Damaging To Your Skin.

This Summer Activity Can Be Damaging To Your Skin.

Summer is almost "officially" here, but we've been ready for the summer fun for weeks now.  Especially as the heat wave hit much of the country we broke out our swimsuits and got to work on our tan.

Sunbathing is one of our favorite pastimes during the summer.  There is nothing like heading to the beach or the backyard, putting on your favorite bathing suit, and lounging with the sun beating down on your face.  The added benefit is when you head back inside you'll have the perfect golden tan to bring with you all summer long.

We love it, but did you know it can be damaging to your skin.  It's true.  If you don't take the appropriate precautions sunbathing can be one of the most damaging things you can do to your skin and there is very little you can do to reverse the effects of it.

It's good that we caught you early.  If you want to go sunbathing you can still do it without destroying your skin but it is imperative that you wear a sunscreen with an SPF that is high enough to protect you from the dangerous UV rays of the sun.  We are not medical experts so we would not recommend how long it is safe to stay in the sun and what SPF you will need to keep your skin safe, so you may want to consult with a medical provider.

Ultimately the best thing you can do to keep your skin safe is to stay out of the sun or at the very least avoid direct sunlight for extended periods of time.  While sunscreen will protect your skin it will not keep it from drying out and becoming parched.  Luckily our skin moisturizer can help with that problem.

We hope you have an incredible summer of fun, but make sure you do it safely so you can continue to enjoy your longer days and shorter nights!
