Here we are, another new year to work towards our most important goals and resolutions. Whether you have a goal of eating better, being healthier, sticking to a skincare routine, achieving something at work, or building better relationships, resolutions can be hard to continue.
Don't let 2020 come and go without achieving your most desired results. While it can be hard, the rewards will far outweigh any of the challenges that you will face.
The good(ish) news is that you're not alone in struggling to stick to your resolutions, in fact one study found that only 19 percent of people get to the end of the year having achieved their resolutions. That's not a great success rate.
The better news is that we're here to help and do this together so we can all be in that 19% by the end of the year. Here are some ideas on how to take your resolutions to accomplishments.
1. Make a plan: It's easy to say you're going to stick to a skincare routine this year, but HOW are you going to do that? Do you have the products you're going to use picked out? When will you use each product? How often do you need to use each product? More good news (if this is your resolution) you can get all the products you need with our Earthen Skincare Collection.
Of course having a plan doesn't just apply to wanting to have better skin, it applies to every resolution. No plan = no success.
2. Get a buddy: One of the best things you can do to be successful with a goal is to partner up with someone who also has that goal. If you're trying to eat healthy, find someone in your office who is also trying to do the same thing and keep checking in on each other. Reaching a goal is so much easier when you have a buddy.
3. Make S.M.A.R.T goals: Goals that are S.M.A.R.T are:
- Specific
- Measurable
- Achievable
- Relevant
- Time-Bound
We think this last one is very important. Having a resolution that is time-bound and not just open ended is key to success. Being healthy may not be a S.M.A.R.T. goal because it is open ended. You could say you want to stop drinking so much coffee by the end of March. That's a better goal.
Resolutions are hard and we all struggle with them. Using these above tips will hopefully help you stick with yours and not become one of the 81% of people who fail to achieve their objectives.
Here's to a happy and healthy 2020!
