Make Skincare A Part Of National Women's Health Day

Today we are celebrating the health and well-being of all women on National Women's Health Day.  When you think of women's health your thoughts may not immediately turn to skincare, but that should be a part of the conversation.

You may have heard that your skin is the largest organ in your body.  It stands to reason that taking care of that skin can have a dramatically positive impact on your overall health and well-being.  Not only will your physical health improve if you have improved skin, but so too will your mental health.

That is why on this National Women's Health Day we are celebrating all aspects of health for a woman.  To take care of yourself you will want to follow some of these very straight forward steps to make sure your health is your top priority today and everyday.

1. Eat healthy.  A healthy diet filled with fruits, vegetables, and good fatty acids is not only good for your internal health, but it can be great for your skin health as well.

2. Physical activity.  Being physically active is great for your mental health as well as your physical health.  Getting your heart, mind and body physical activity is one of the best things you can do for your overall health.

3. Mental health activities: Whether you are interested in doing some mindfulness practice, yoga instruction, or general meditation, spending time focused on your mental health will help you in all aspects of your life.  Taking time to slow down and be at one with the world around you is soothing and healing.

4. Pamper yourself.  We can't let a National Women's Health Day pass by without a little pampering.  You deserve it.  Take time today to get a massage, do an at-home facial to exfoliate your skin or just simply take a nice warm shower to relax your mind, body, and soul.

Spending time focused on your health when most of your days are filled with focusing on others is the perfect way to spend today.  You'll be glad you did.
