Three Steps To Get Your Skin Ready For The Spring

Three Steps To Get Your Skin Ready For The Spring

When I looked out my window this morning and saw a bright sunshine beaming through my windows I knew that it was only a matter of time before I'd be able to swing open my windows and let the warm air of spring breeze in.  It's the most wonderful time of the year when we shed our extra layers of clothing and let our skin breathe in the beautiful fresh air that is all around us.

We are just a matter of a few weeks away from the start of Spring and that brings with it rebirth and improved energy for us all.  It should also signal to you that it is time to take some steps to make sure your skin is ready for the coming weather so you will look glowing and stunning in your spring and summer wardrobe.  If you take the time to work on your skincare routine and other skin tasks that you should undergo before the spring weather really blooms, you will be ready to shed your heavy jacket and wear a shimmering smile all season long.

The good news is that there are very few things you really need to do before the Spring weather really arrives.  If you can knock out these three tasks you will be ready and you can focus on your daily skincare routine instead of having to catch up from a long winter of weather that has battered your skin in to being parched and red.  Take these three steps and the bitter cold wind of the past few months will be just that, a thing of the past.

Step #1: Exfoliate.  In the past, exfoliating your skin may have meant making an appointment at a local spa where you got a chemical peel to reveal the fresh new layer of skin that you desired.  This is time consuming and can be quite damaging to your skin.  Instead, we're talking about a gentle, at-home exfoliate that also happens to be our best seller.  InstantPeel is gentle on your skin while it removes dead skin during a shower and leaves no red marks or residue on your skin to take care of after the treatment.  It can be done in 10-15 minutes at home and without the need for a professional to guide you through the process.  You should exfoliate 1-2 times per week as you wash away the winter weather.  Once you're happy with your youthful and glowing skin you can use InstantPeel once every other week.

Step #2: Check in on your moisturizer.  Thick and heavy moisturizers can leave your pores blocked and while they may offer protection against the winter weather, as the Spring weather rolls around you will want to make sure you are using a light moisturizer like one of our specially formulated moisturizers for your specific type of skin.  We know you'll love the luxurious feel of our moisturizer as it keeps your skin feeling soft and supple all day long.  You will want to choose the moisturizer that is best for your skin type so you can make sure you are maximizing the impact it has on your glowing and youthful skin into the Spring months.

Step #3: Protect your skin.  As the winter weather melts away the Spring weather brings with it some stronger rays from the sun.  Even when the sun is not brightly shining down and there is cloud cover you will want to make sure you are protecting your skin from the UV rays that are in the atmosphere.  If you are going to be out in the sun for any length of time you should apply a broad-spectrum SPF 30 or higher sunscreen and use it regularly throughout the day.  Even if you don't think you will be exposed to directly sunlight you should take this step to make sure your skin is not damaged and in need of repair before the real heat of the season kicks in.

There is so much joy to be found in the Spring with flowers blooming and new beginnings happening all around us.  Make sure you find joy in your skincare routine and that you are taking care of your skin and preparing it for the heat of the summer so you can be glowing all season long.  If you take the above prescribed steps you will be well on your way to keeping your skin youthful and glowing all Spring and Summer long.  Trust us, you'll be happy you did.
