The Perfect Workout Skincare Routine

The Perfect Workout Skincare Routine

If you do it right, a trip to the gym can not only be good for your body and soul, but it can also be good for your skin.  If you do it wrong though, it could have a terrible impact on your skin.

The good news is, we are here with the perfect skincare routine for your workout.  Whether you go to the gym, do cardio in your living room, or walk around your neighborhood with your beautiful pup, all of these dos and don'ts will apply to you.

You'll always want to start pre-workout.  Properly wash your face before working out.  It is important to not just wipe down your face and clean off your makeup, but it is important to actually wash your face.  Our vegan daily facial cleanser is the perfect tool to use to make sure your skin is completely free of excess dirt and makeup before you start sweating.

After you've washed your face, do not add any moisturizer UNLESS you're working out outside, in which case you'll want just a light moisturizer with SPF to protect your skin.

During your workout be very careful not to use your hands or shirt to wipe sweat away from your skin.  Instead, you'll want to use a clean hand towel that will allow you to wipe away the sweat without causing more problems for your skin.

Post-workout you'll want to be sure to follow some really important steps.  Don't sit around in your sweaty workout clothes, immediately shower where you can wash your body and your face.

Also after your workout you'll want to be sure to hydrate.  This is of course important for your body, but also your skin.  Working out and sweating has a tendency to increase the salt content in your sweat which can be a sign of dehydration.  You'll want to avoid this by drinking lots of post-workout water.

Lastly, don't forget to moisturize your skin wants you've gotten your body clean of all the sweat.  A good moisturizer will help protect your skin from drying out and accentuate the affects of a good workout.

You made it through another workout, nice work!  Now make sure your workout isn't working against your skincare routine.
