What Olympics Athletes Can Teach You About Your Skincare Routine

The Olympics in Paris are under way as the games have started after an electrifying opening ceremonies in the French capital.  These games are always a spectacle that brings athletes, the best of the best, from over 200 countries together in one place to compete against one another for the right to be known as the best in their sport in the world.

There are always so many lessons that can be learned from these athletes that we as mere mortals can put to work in our own lives.  The values that they demonstrate when competing at the highest level are to be admired, but also to be emulated.  When someone is at the top, it is important to learn lessons from them so you can be better in your own life.

Today we're not going to discuss the athletic lessons that these athletes can teach us, but we are going to focus on what their efforts can teach us about our skincare routine.  Skincare may not be at the top of mind of these athletes during these games, but there are some qualities that they are demonstrating that actually point right back to what we're thinking about today.

What can we learn from the Olympic athletes who are competing in Paris about our own skincare routine?

1.) Consistency matters.  These athletes did not get to compete at the highest level in the world by simply picking up a stick or a ball one day or diving into the pool a couple of times as a kid.  These athletes put in hours upon hours of consistent work to get to the position they find themselves in.

While hours and hours may not be necessary for you to have success with your skincare routine, consistency is key.  If you want to have youthful looking, glowing skin year-round you are going to remain consistent with your routine.  This includes consistency in the products you use and in staying consistent with the routine itself by utilizing it day in and day out.  It is this consistency that will have you experience gold medal results.

2.) Failure is part of the road to success.  These athletes have not always won at every level they are on.  In fact, when you have a track and field race with ten athletes in it, seven won't even make it to the medal podium.  When you are competing at the highest level you have to be OK with failure and let that drive you to be better at your sport.

The same holds true when you are trying to find the perfect skincare routine.  There may be moments where you feel like you'll never find the perfect moisturizer or you can't get the bags under your eyes to go away.  Failure is OK.  As long as you get back up and try again the next morning.  You'll eventually find your way to the perfect moisturizer or the perfect under eye treatment and your skincare routine will land you on the medal podium.

3.) A relentless belief in yourself is the only way to get to the top of the mountain in the Olympics.  These athletes have belief in themselves and their hard work that it is going to pay off.  This confidence is what will often propel them to hear their national anthem when they have just finished competing.

This is as much about having belief in yourself as it is in your skincare routine.  Believing in yourself that you can achieve the type of skin you want to have is just as important as finding the right elements of your skincare routine.  If you don't believe you will ever get there, you may not.  If you do believe, you will almost certainly make it to the type of skin you desire.

There is so much to learn from these incredible athletes who always show us the best of what we can be.  Follow their lead in your life and in your pursuit of the best skincare routine and you will undoubtedly achieve the success you are looking for as you pursue your dream of glowing, youthful looking skin.
