Chemical Peels Can Be Dangerous, Here's Why

Keeping your skin looking youthful and glowing can be a constant battle and you've likely tried many things to achieve the perfect look.  If one of those things has been a chemical peel you know just how damaging that type of treatment can be, especially on the skin on your face.

Chemical peels have been known to show some success in giving you more youthful looking skin, but that's only AFTER the harsh chemicals leave your skin red and blotchy and leaving your body and mind writhing in pain for days at a time following the treatments.

According to the Mayo Clinic chemical peels can have damaging and lasting effects on your skin including:

  • Scarring.  While rare, a harsh chemical peel has been shown to leave some scarring which may last forever on your face.
  • Hyper/Hypopigmentation.  The effect of a chemical peel can leave your skin either lighter or darker depending on your body reacts to the chemicals in the peel.
  • Infections.  There are times when a chemical peel can leave you with an infection such as a herpes flare up, a bacterial or fungus infection.
  • Heart, kidney, or liver damage.  Certain types of deep chemical peels can lead to serious medical conditions which certainly go beyond the surface of your skin and can cause lasting damage.

The good news is that our exfoliant, InstantPeel, will cause none of these afflicitions.  It is specially formulated to be gentle on your skin while also washing away the dead skin that you are trying your best to get rid of from your face to make you look younger and more vibrant.

Oh and by the way, it really works.  Just ask Vogue Contributing Editor Marina Rust about her experience with InstantPeel.
